Catbone, we strive for quality in our products and music. We have taken almost ten years to restore, and re master many very rare and some unreleased recordings of America's great legendary musicians. Including blues, rock, and americana roots artists.
From the heart of the Delta to the tips of the Appalachian, New Orleans, Macon, Chicago, Memphis, and a myriad of other music centers and artist around the world whose contributions to the blues and music of feeling were enormous.
Catbone Records is much more than a unique store for visitors, and customers whom share a love and common bond for quality music, and music that is real. In today's world so much quantity is available, but very little quality this day and time. Sadly, it is about the money first, the true art gets lost in this type of fast paced and rapidly changing world, where money often over rides the standards of quality, Catbone maintains the standard of true artist and their music, and other works.
Our goal for is to open up the past and let in some of the most legendary artist of all time including Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Melanie Safka, Billy Boy Arnold, Howlin Wolf, John Hurt, David Carradine, Little Richard, Son House Little Richard, Son House Little Richard, Phoenix Benjamin and many others.
All of our products are unique, and designed by Catbone, from our Speed Demon Guitar Picks, to our Catbone music themed jewelry, clothing and many other cool, and one of a kind merchandise, which are not only very cool and chic, but very collectible and many of our products will increase in value over time. All are designed by the Catbone artisans and team, all are pieces of art, with quality and style.
I love life and all it has to offer, even the down times, not necessarily while I am going though them, but after I come out. It is like the Eagle when they go to the highest rock where no other predators can fly or attack, they pull all of their feathers out, then they bang their beak against the rock until it breaks. Then the Eagle lays on the rock in the weather almost dead, naked and nothing to defend itself with.
Then comes the new feathers and the new beak, but, this time the new feathers, are a brilliant sheen of brown laced with blacks and reds, and greens, the tail and wing feathers on the next to last layer of the under feathers is a brilliant white. The beak is no longer a grayed out beak as the young Eagle has, but the brilliant yellow beak that the Eagle is distinguished for. The Eagle has a new life, and full vigor and strength, then is a wise and mighty force to reckon with. That is much like our life after a spell of the Blues, if we don't give up, know that we have a savior who lives within us, that the world does not understand. But we do, that is why we have grown so much after going through the blues, the blues ain't nothing but a time of stretching and working us out inside and emotionally. It makes us stronger, smarter, and deeper with our understanding, faith, love and discernment over the fast talkers, jivers, and cons this world has an abundance of. It teaches us patience, wisdom, forgiveness and love. If we have those three things, we have strength then, and wealth, because Love, Patience and Wisdom are the foundations of power.
The world is a big place, so we welcome suggestions tips, on new artists and bands, artwork which is music related and other cool things. However, if you do recommend an artist or group to us, the parameters and guidelines are, quality first, original music and music that has feeling.
I am a lover of the Blues, because the Blues is a story, much like history, did you ever think the word history spells, 'His Story" meaning man's journey's on earth, transcending the ages and recording the civilizations. Well, in fact the Blues does the same thing, the Blues records the stories of one man's travesty on earth, one man's journey, one main's pain, one woman's love, or loss of it, one person's demons they deal with every day, one persons' dreams and failures.
